Çocuklar Suyu Kodluyor


The "Children Code Water! H2Okullu Became a Student" project, submitted under the 2018 Children and Youth Financial Support Program run by the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA), has been deemed eligible for support.

The project, implemented by DenizTemiz Association/Turmepa in partnership with the Sarıyer District National Education Directorate and the Istanbul Governorship, includes Istanbul Technical University as a participating partner.

The project aims to encourage children to develop their creativity, inquiry, and research skills; to teach them about the importance of seas and water in our lives, guiding them towards experimental STEM activities to enable them to learn through experience; and to convey the information that 50-70% of the world's oxygen comes from the seas. Thus, it contributes to raising environmentally conscious and responsible individuals. Within the scope of the project, training will be provided to 6630 children and 60 teachers from 29 schools in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul, who are 5th and 6th grade students.

Threats to water and seas;
Human impact on threats to water and seas;
Ways to reduce threats to water and seas;
The role of humans in eliminating threats to water and seas;

The relationship and importance between resource use and nature's carrying capacity;
Sustainability of natural resources.
